Chain Trencher illness can include:
- fainting
- heat stroke
- fatigue/exhaustion
- rashes (such as prickly heat) or heat cramps
- worsening of pre-existing medical conditions
Preperation:
Assemble trenching attachment onto backhoe as per manufacturer’s instructions.
Check that trencher is attached correctly:
- Ensure hitching points are secured/tightened
- Ensure locking pins are in place and engaged
Prepare intended work site:
- clear debris, waste, tools or other potential tripping/entanglement hazards
- establish an exclusion zone (no less than 10m from dig area)
- clear surface obstructions (grass clumps, rocks, shrubs/weeds etc)
- clear people from area
