LPG Storage Safety Tips
- Stand up right and secure with a rope to prevent accidental falls.
- Use a designated storage area, preferably in a dry covered location not exposed to the weather.
- Do not store them near elevators, stairs or gangways, or in unventilated enclosures such as cupboards.
- Handle cylinders one at a time and use rope slings only for lifting — not chains or magnetic lifts.
- Always close the valves of empty cylinders, and store them separately from full ones.
- Keep all cylinders away from electrical apparatus, heat and other sources of ignition.
LPG Transportation Safety Tips
- Cylinders should be loaded in a single layer and secured to prevent movement.
- The cylinders must be upright
- Flammable gas danger warning diamonds should be displayed at the rear and on both sides of the vehilce.
- When unloading and loading park the vehicle as close as possible to the destination or storage area to reduce manual handling.
